Hi, I’m Sally. A 200hrs qualified vinyasa yoga teacher and 85hr qualified pre and postnatal yoga teacher. Ex-Fashion Editor, wife to Andy and mum to Orson. 


I started Motherland Yoga after struggling to find a prenatal class that worked for me when I was pregnant with Orson. I wanted to be fit for birth—both physically and mentally—to give my body the best chance of staying well and recovering through the birthing process. I resorted to the confused, jam-packed minefield of searching the internet, but with so much conflicting advice, some of it totally inappropriate to my condition, I had to simply muddle through as best I could. 

Without a specialist teacher or yoga community to help me on my way I definitely pushed myself too hard, resulting in a twisted pelvis post pregnancy - ouch! What I really needed and missed was a yoga teacher who knew their prenatal potatoes, as well as a yogini gang to help me through the mental and psychological changes that pregnancy can bring; or maybe just a friendly cuppa now and again. 

And so Motherland was born. Yoga for all mothers and mothers-to-be. 

Armed with strength, clarity and community you can take on anything.
